Segovia is a wonderful Spanish city to visit full of culture, history and treasures of traveling. Segovia is located in north western central Spain, in the autonomous region of Castile and Leon. Segovia has many famous landmarks from the Roman Aqueduct that runs through the city, to the Segovia Cathedral and el Alcázar de Segovia. The Alcazar of Segovia is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but was also one of the European castles that inspired Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle. It is one of the many stunning treasures of traveling to see in the charming Spanish city of Segovia.

Visiting the Seville Cathedral!

Seville Cathedral was registered in 1987 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Find out the reasons it is historical, along with other interesting facts that make this one of the treasures of traveling in southern Spain.

While traveling throughout southern Spain in the Andalusia region, you will not want to miss Seville (or Sevilla in Spanish). The city is actually the capital of the Andalusia region and is full of Spanish culture and Treasures of Traveling such as the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, better known as Seville Cathedral. 

It is considered the third largest church in the world and since it is also the seat of a bishop, it’s actually the largest cathedral in the world. It has a fascinating history because originally it was a mosque that was converted into a church, as was so common in the southern part of Spain during the reconquest by the Spanish Monarchs.

Visiting the Albaicín in Granada Spain!

No visit to the south of Spain is complete until you have visited one of Andalusia’s most unique neighborhoods, the charming Arabic quarter filled with Muslim influence. The Albaicín, is located in the city of Granada, across the Darro River from the Alhambra fortress and palace. This Moorish “barrio” is just one of the many treasures of traveling through Andalusia and southern Spain.

The Albaicín is filled with history and charm.

Even though the Albaicín is located within the city of Granada, it is like a totally different world due to the strong Muslim influence over the centuries. The Albaicín is Granada’s oldest neighborhood and is the former Arabic quarter. This compact network of whitewashed houses and winding cobbled streets is Granada’s bohemian and artistic centre filled with art, live music and beautiful squares that are just calling out to be explored. The best way to get to know this lovely and iconic neighborhood is to get lost and just explore on foot.

5 Things to do in Arequipa, Peru!

While in Arequipa’s central plaza filled with colonial architecture, these Peruvians are getting ready to take a group photo in front of the fountains of La Plaza de Armas.

Arequipa is Peru’s second largest city and between it being a UNESCO World Heritage site, it’s lower breathable altitude, and it’s comfortable, relatively stable climate all year, it’s a nice city to visit!  There are not as many tourists as in Cusco so you may feel a little less bombarded and relaxed while exploring this city, but it is becoming more popular every year especially because of it’s close proximity to Colca Canyon. Therefore more adventures are visiting the area to explore the canyon.
